About the Film « My Perestroika

Wish we could be at Sundance this week to see our friend Robin Hessman’s amazing documentary “My Perestroika” wow the crowds. It’s a remarkable film, and Robin’s put her heart and soul into making it. I don’t think it airs on public television for another year or something crazy like that, so unless you’re a lucky Sundance-goer or a F.O.R. you’ll have to sit tight or bribe someone for a DVD…

hello again world

Well that was quite a year!

My last post to this blog was January 6, 2009 – a week after the birth of our twins Zoe and Max. It was also 5 days after the launch of PRX Inc, the newly independent non-profit incarnation of the Public Radio Exchange where I've worked since helping start it way back in 2002. PRX had been happily incubated at the Station Resource Group with the intention of spinning out as a separate organization, and the time finally came. Of course it coincided with our dramatic and wonderful family changes and the worst economic crisis in our lifetimes…

So after a crazy great challenging rewarding blur of a year, I'm going to attempt to start posting occasionally to the blog again. Mainly sticking to the professional sphere – friends and family get plenty status updates and shared pics on Facebook and elsewhere – but I may stray, who knows.

I'm also giving Posterous a spin, hoping that my ridiculous dependence on email will pay off in quicker shorter blog posts using the Posterous email posting/Wordpress integration trick.

If you're reading this and it's 2011 I've either failed miserably or you have dug through a healthy archive to get here.
