Landed in St Louis where I’m presenting at the National College Media Convention (which really needs a website overhaul), and where it’s rainy and cold and nasty enough that they called the game and wet, disappointed Cardinals fans hit the bars.

This is my first time at this event, not really sure what to expect but it was good to meet up with Doug Mitchell from NPR and his crew of mentors and students from Next Generation.

I also stumbled across the College Media Innovation blog which kindly highlighted all the new media sessions including my own (Thursday at noon).

We’ve always wanted to get more college radio stations involved in PRX, both acquiring and offering programs, but it’s a challenge for most of them with the semester-to-semester turnover and the dominance of spinning music instead of more public affairs or documentary programming. Perhaps the social media side of things will bridge the gap and “podcast to broadcast” will connect the dots.
